[edit] PROBLEM WITH SUBMITTING MY BOOK ON YOUR SIGHT
Hi there, I am so excited about this Tarot sight, I can't wait to learn more from everyone out there. I wrote a book on Tarot and would like to have it listed in the "books" section. I did my best to explain about it yesterday and it was removed. I would like to know if I submitted it incorrectly, and what you need me to do so that the submission can stay on the sight. the book is titled "LADY CHALICE'S SECRETS OF TAROT: A SKILL DEVELOPMENT WORKBOOK by Cynthia Krueger a.k.a. Lady Chalice, and it is available at Amazon.com among many other places like Target.com, BookSurge.come, and etc. Please help me with my submission so I can list my book here. Thank you, Cynthia - email me if you need to at cynthia21918@juno.com, I really appreciate your help, and thank you!
Hi Cynthia, you have been sent an email outlining appropriate use of the Tarotpedia site. Your previous comments were removed from an index page, and a new page for your book was created. Your comments were moved to that page.
Your book is listed under Study Guides:
http://www.tarotpedia.com/wiki/Tarot_Books:_Study_Guides
and your book's page is located here:

- Thanks for that le pendu - I've been basically offline for the best part of two weeks with other commitments, and was unaware of the request.
- Glad le pendu was able to be of assistance there, Cynthia!

[edit] About the Thoth/s
Hi.
This place is great!
I know what you mean about the Crowley Ettilla thing.
Maybe
Crowley Thoth Tarot, or Ettilla Thoth Tarot
And Book of Thoth-Crowley, or Book of Thoth-Ettilla.
Or; Crowley's Book of Thoth, or Ettilla's Book of Thoth.
I think that would be my suggestion. Clearly they have to be differentiated from each other, and I think that just putting the relevant name would do that.
This is a great place. I love it already!

- Thanks Lillie - will need to work on this a little more this weekend! --Jmd 06:45, 27 January 2006 (PST)
[edit] Hello jmd!

[edit] Waite-Smith!
D'Oh! I don't know why I did'nt see that one for myself, and thanks for catching it.
I have to confess I'm finding my time adding to the site remarkable relaxing and therapeutic. So thank you for making it aavailable.
All best Scion
[edit] Re: Books: evolution of the section
Hey JMD,
You read my mind basically. LOL The timeline is a one of a kind and the author and title sections will grow as more books are posted. I just wanted to get the go ahead to do something with a books-by-subject page. I'm going to think about it for a few to see if I can come up with something workable without being too complicated... Many thanks again, Scion 12:19, 17 February 2006 (PST)
Quick update: Just wanted to let you know that I've done all the hardcoding for a new subject-divided Books page(with subpages etc) much like the Decks page and very user friendly, and I'll get it up and running over the weekend. I Don't want to remove the timeline we have there presently, so is it all right if I mnove it to your timeline page after the rest of the thing seems to be operating properly? [edit] Established view question
Hey JMD,
I'm a little confused and so I just have to ask... Exactly how is the "Claims to Connections" section of the Freemasonry and Tarot page appropriate and relevant?
I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but your guidelines suggest that "If very personal (even though YOU think they should be universally acclaimed), you may choose to instead include them in the page about you." I know that Venicebard is adamantly, passionately convinced of the factual truth of his claims, but not only are they not reflected by any of the accepted scholarship, but textual support seems to be Missing-in-Action as well. Isn't this a case of "personal views" that belong on someone's private page?
I thought the purpose of Tarotpedia was to present a relatively neutral information clearinghouse... Many claims (published and otherwise) have been made about Freemasonry and Tarot but not one of them reflects Venicebard's "Bardic origin" theory, of whom he seems to be the only proponent, unless I'm very much mistaken. While I have no intention to squelch enthusiasm or theoretical researches, this kind of speculation belongs on a site of his own creation.
I'd appreciate any input you and le Pendu have... Scion 08:32, 13 April 2006 (PDT)
- thanks Scion - I agree with you, and will edit the page over the next week, and also discuss how to make Venicebard's contributions to Tarotpedia more appropriate.

[edit] Deletion request
Someone accidentally uploaded an image at Image:Image.jpg. I uploaded a copy of that image afresh at a more descriptive title Image:Nigel Johnson Tarot box.jpg, so please delete Image:Image.jpg. Thanks. --Aquarius Rising 21:59, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
- Thanks for the note, Aquarius Rising - I see le pendu has already deleted it (I was on a trip for a few days) Jmd 02:57, 5 September 2006 (PDT)
[edit] Trouble with posting
I have uploaded a photo of myself (RibbonCutting.jpg) to put on the page about me instead of that distorted version of my selfportrait but I have continually been blocked when I submit it. What is going wrong? My wife took the photo at the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Tarot Museum in Italy and it is copyright free.

- I am not sure why the image cannot be uploaded, Robert - if you email it to me, I'll try to upload it for you (you can also email me directly: jmd at association.tarotstudies.org

[edit] Broken images
I have found two broken images from the wiki: Image:Tarot of the Cat People 5.jpg and Image:Crow's Magick Tarot 4.jpg. They looked good when I uploaded them, but something has happened to them, while I have been away from the wiki. The culprit could be the wiki software update. Luckily the images aren't unreplaceable. The articles about the decks now have new images. Could you delete the older broken files? Tristram Shandy 13:33, 11 January 2008 (PST)
- thanks Tristam Shandy - I have to await until the tarotpedia move is complete, and then I'll do so (can't get in with my other name until then) J mdavid 17:06, 24 January 2008 (PST)
[edit] Reviews in online shops
Is it OK to link to them? I found such link in article Tarot of a Moon Garden, and I haven't found discussion about it. My initial thoughts are that such links just advertise some online shops. And in many shops it is impossible to have a list of all reviews that a certain customer has written, so you can't get more information on their tastes. Tarotpedia:Style Guide may need a small section about this. Tristram Shandy 15:48, 11 January 2008 (PST)
- hmmmm..... good point. Seems like there is a difference to be made between a genuine 'review' and a 'brief sales description' - again, I'll talk with le_pendu about this, but fully agree with you that is seems more like advertising. I suppose that, on one level, if the 'advertising reviews' are minimal in a context that has little other descriptions, they may be useful. Perhaps a separate subheading like Retailer description and reviews may do the trick.
- thanks again, J mdavid 17:11, 24 January 2008 (PST)
