A practical approach to reading and using Tarot cards as a tool for self-knowledge, guidance and divination. The Minor Arcana are discussed in groups by number (all the 4s, all the Pages, etc) which can be useful for those who favour that approach.

This book was developed from my classroom lecture notes as I teach Tarot. I discuss the cards together by number, not by suit, so that beginners can see what connections bind the cards together and then see the differences that the Suits bring to the same card. In this manner we learn the Aces, the Twos, the Threes, etc. I also do the same with teaching the Court cards.
We also read them in correct numerical order; I detest books that start with the Tens and work backwards to the Aces. We read the cards from Aces to Kings so finding a reference when needed is simple to do.
Likewise, we start the Major Arcana with the Fool and work through to the World card.
My explanation of the cards has been referred to as 'a system.' It is, I do not deny it - a system for people who have been bored with older books that require you to learn arcane terms, stifling verbiage or esoteric understandings that only serve to confuse. This book is written in straight-forward, easy to understand language with a heart - a sense of humor missing from too many books on this subject.
